Colin Jackson

Even though Colin’s athletics career came to an end in 2003, he has held the world record time for the 60m hurdles since 1994. His multi medal career made him the natural choice join the BBC’s sports production team. Indeed, since the Athens Olympics (2004), Colin has been an integral part of BBC programming for all major athletic events, including the Olympic Games in London in 2012 and in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Colin co-hosted BBC One’s Sunday Life (Live) for its duration during 2008. He has featured in a number of highly acclaimed documentaries with the BBC, including Who Do You Think You Are? and The Truth About You. By public vote, Colin was also a fleet-footed finalist on Strictly Come Dancing. More recently Colin has honed is ice-skating skills for ITV1’s Dancing on Ice Goes Gold and appeared in the BBC’s 24 Hours in the Past. He frequently appears on a range of media platforms and is comfortable across all types of formats, including live theatre tours with A Question of Sport, podcasts, speechmaking and written media.

Colin works closely with Sport Relief, where he is a member of the steering panel, and is also an International Inspiration Ambassador for UNICEF as well as founding and fronting the Go Dad Run campaign for Prostate Cancer. Since 2014, Colin has been the Sporting Director for the Wings for Life.
