DOM JOLY is a multi-award winning British comedian and writer, best known for his smash hit hidden camera series Trigger Happy TV. Dom’s other comedy television credits include This is Dom Joly, World Shut Your Mouth and Fool Britannia. In 2016 he brought back an updated and brand-new mini series of Trigger Happy to huge acclaim for All4 and Channel4. 

Dom is also a former diplomat and Westminster TV producer turned columnist and award-winning travel writer whose books include The Dark Tourist and Scary Monsters and Super Creeps and The Downhill Hiking Club. 

Heal so makes TV travel shows including Dom Joly’s Happy Hour and Dom Joly’s Excellent Adventure in which he respectively travelled the world drinking and went on a mammoth road trip through Lebanon and Syria. His last TV travel series “How Beer Changed The World” was broadcast in 59 countries in 2018. 

Impending projects include an Audible Original travel book called Such Miserable Weather: Dom Joly’s Big English Staycation; released in June 2021. Audible UK also released series one and two of Dom's hit podcast Earworm. 

As lockdown was instituted, Dom was half way through a national 55 date tour, his first live UK tour in ten years- Dom Joly’s Holiday Snaps: Travel and Comedy in the Danger Zone. The tour will reopen in Autumn 2021. 

This year, Dom has appeared on Richard Osman’s House of Games (BBC2) and Celebrity Beat the Chasers (ITV1) and in addition to hiking the length of Lebanon for his latest book The Downhill Hiking Club, he recently walked the Sultan’s Trail from Belgrade to Istanbul for a major BBC2 three-part TV series called Pilgrimage, which was broadcast over Easter. 

He has been keeping busy in lockdown. He has filmed an online ad campaign using his family as crew, celebrated the 20th anniversary of Trigger Happy TV by hosting weekly watch-along parties and created his own Instagram lockdown diaries, including a new Covid Marshall character. 

On Feb 1st he launched his Twitch channel combining his love of gaming, comedy and travel in one interactive space.

He is also writing a TV sitcom Due Diligence which is in development with NBC, and is planning his new travel book The Conspiracy Tourist.

He has written extensively for the Sunday Times, Mail On Sunday and The Independent.

Dom has also set up The Format Factory with his writing partner Chris Bell - a company to generate global TV formats and shows.

He is an Ambassador for Save the Children and a Patron of Ataxia UK.
