East 17 were one of the biggest selling boy bands of the 1990s. They sold over 22 million albums, with four top 10s and enjoyed 18 top 20 singles, including the smash hits Deep, House Of Love, It’s Alright, Steam, and the Christmas 1994 no.1 Stay Another Day, during their reign.
The band was formed in 1991, when 20-year-old Tony Mortimer, an ambitious singer and songwriter contacted London Records recording studio, and formed a band with friends John Handy, Terry Coldwell and Brian Harvey. They named themselves after their Walthamstow postcode.
For the past 11 years East 17 have been performing at events all around the world with original band member Terry Coldwell joined by Artful Dodger’s finest, Robbie Craig and Joe Livermore, who was a star of the National British gymnastics team and has been a stuntman in many movies.
