Henry Chilcott

Henry began his career in advertising at M&C Saatchi where he ran British Airways, ITV and GSK. His time in advertising culminated in a period in the corridors of power in Westminster leading the ad campaign to keep the UK in the EU. Working inside a cross-party coalition with ‘the ever present and looming arm of Number 10’ Henry described the period as like ‘trying to stop a juggernaut with a toothpick’. After this short (and unsuccessful) campaign in politics Henry moved into the world of sport with Team Sky, McLaren F1 and most recently Formula E.

As CMO at Formula E, Henry positioned the sport at the intersection of high performance and sustainability overseeing 30% growth of the fanbase to 374 million fans worldwide and becoming the world’s first net zero sport. Before Formula E, Henry was part of the leadership team at McLaren F1 that set the vision and led the organisational restructure for the ‘journey back to the front of the grid’ after a long period of decline. Henry revitalised the brand’s storied legacy, spearheading the restoration of Bruce McLaren’s culture of fearless innovation, attracting a new legion of fans and partners, and setting the team on the path to reclaiming the crown as World Champions in2024.

Prior to McLaren, Henry was part of the core team that launched Team Sky with Sir Dave Brailsford, embedding his marginal gains philosophy across the organisation and brand, and setting the audacious mission to win the Tour De France with a British rider for the first time in history.The team went on to win the Tour de France 6 times in 7 years with three different British riders.
