He is the Managing Director of extense – an inclusion consultancy; D&I training provider; and diverse headhunting solution. In 2021, he was appointed to the government-commissioned Taskforce to boost socio-economic diversity across UK Financial and Professional Services; set up by HM Treasury and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. Morgan, KPMG, Morgan Stanley and PwC.
Julian leverages years of experience in senior talent acquisition and people strategy, alongside his personal background as a first-generation graduate and a resilient product of social mobility. His keynotes navigate difficult-to-discuss diversity themes and empower audience members to improve their confidence and competence when discussing race and ethnicity, combined with actionable frameworks to support anti-racist allyship.
Julian’s professional journey is impactful. His lived experience and subject matter expertise help audiences to understand the importance of cultivating an inclusive company culture. Specifically, a work environment that incorporates identity-related knowledge and demographic diversity as a resource for improving business performance. Julian’s bespoke keynotes cover the fundamentals of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. They are tailored to where the organisation is in its inclusion maturity.
Currently, Julian is engaged by several organisations as a human capital advisor to help attract, retain and progress underrepresented talent. He hand-holds organisations through each step of their inclusion journey and turns intentions into impact. Julian previously led C-suite headhunting mandates for a #1 Executive Grapevine ranked global Executive Search firm. He is also a law graduate and a former professional athlete. Julian represented Great Britain & England internationally at the elite level in the sprint hurdles athletics event.
