ABOUT
Retired footballer Micky Quinn was a powerful centre forward during the eighties and nineties and is now an accomplished guest speaker, award host and brand ambassador who brings real charm and insight to his work.
Starting out in 1979, Micky played for teams including Wigan Athletic, Stockport County, Oldham Athletic, Portsmouth, Newcastle United, Coventry City, Plymouth Argyle, Watford and PAOK Thessaloniki during a career in which he scored 228 goals from 515 games in the Football League. In his time he was top scorer for teams like Portsmouth, spiced four goals in his home debut for Newcastle and ended as the leagues top scorer in 1989-90.
Away from football, Quinn has been on shows like BBC’s Football Focus, and has often been lovingly moved for being a fuller figure than most sportsmen. He attracted the crowd chant of “Who Ate All the Pies?” due to his physique, which he then went on to use as the title of his 2003 autobiography. After leaving the game, Quinn has taken up race horse training and now has stables at Newmarket, Suffolk. He also covers horse racing and football for the radio station TalkSPORT
